CNIB Deafblind Community Services suspends drop-in and in-person services at all office locations until further notice

Monday, March 16, 2020 – 9:00 a.m.

Like many of you, CNIB Deafblind Community Services has been monitoring the potential impact of COVID-19 and actively preparing to meet the demands of the evolving situation.

Although the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the current risk as low, they are also strongly encouraging social distancing, and are advising employers to consider virtual/distance-based work plans for employees. The health and safety of our clients and employees is of utmost importance. Therefore, as of today, all Deafblind intervenor and literacy services at our office locations have been suspended until further notice.

We are also implementing a number of measures to protect the health of our clients and staff while working one-on-one in community settings, such as a screening process to ensure that staff are safe to enter a client’s home, and suspending group activities.

We will continue to monitor the situation to determine when we will resume services within our office locations. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-563-2642.
